Okay-- here's the deal.  Movers can scam the crap out of you.  It's a risky business but feel confident going with Fischer Van Lines-- they rock.

We moved out from the Northeast using United.... United moving is a group of movers across the country who are VERY professional and awesome, but also quite expensive.  We searched around and found Fischer.  They were CHEAP-ER, not totally cheap, but WELL worth the money.  Have you ever experienced moving without having to beg your friends?  Without lifting your couch?  It's the BEST money you will ever spend.

We moved on New Year's Day.  These poor guys.  They were clearly hungover, mostly because they had been called in last minute because their coworkers who were scheduled bailed.  So they moved a bit slower than usual, but still managed to move us out of our 2nd floor apartment  and into our 1st floor new apartment in four hours.  They were great.  I would gladly recommend them to anyone!!
